St. Agnes RE/YM COVID-19 Protocols for 2021-2022
The ability of RE and Confirmation preparation and of youth ministry events to be held in person this year will be subject to any appropriate and applicable mandates from federal, state, county, and local health authorities.
If there are subsequent waves or variants of COVID-19 that are resistant to vaccines or other approved therapies, we will need to revise these guidelines significantly and potentially with little notice.
We plan to have all RE classes, Confirmation classes, Masses, retreats, fundraisers and Youth Ministry events to meet in person this year but to do so with all due prudence (as we did last year) in order to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and its variants.
Wearing masks indoors are strongly encouraged for all students, catechists and volunteers, whether vaccinated or unvaccinated. In Christian charity, the rights of health, freedom, and conscience are to be respected by all. These guidelines are to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and will continue to be measured, monitored, and adjusted as needed.
There is no expectation for the following to wear a face covering/mask:
Physical distancing of at least 3 feet is still required.
Hand washing will strongly encouraged on a regular basis, and hand sanitizer will be available in every classroom.
Disinfecting wipes will be available in every classroom, and desks and chairs will be wiped down both before and after each class.
Tote bags filled with supplies will be provided again for each student just like last year to minimize the spread of virus through shared materials.
We will also continue to utilize the same drop off / pick up procedures as last year to reduce the amount of foot traffic in the building.
Finally, the personal decision to vaccinate is just that...personal. We will not be requiring any individual to vaccinate nor will be we requiring proof of vaccination.
