Do you think Mary knew the exact day and hour Jesus was going to come?
Do you think She and Joseph were READY?
Do You Know What I Know?
Rather than last minute shopping, decorating and party planning, this Holy Couple was fulfilling an obligation to the government -- to be counted in their home of origin. They were taking care of the (census) business at hand, and in the MIDDLE of that....in the MIDDLE of the night, Mary goes into labor. And thus the first Christmas we know & cherish today began. It didn't matter if Mary & Joseph were ready. God was ready to enter their lives and our world.
Jesus WAS present.
Jesus IS present.
Jesus WILL BE present to us ALWAYS!
This is what I know....Like Mary & Joseph, we too, have many obligations and preparations, but sometimes things don't go as planned. I hope you take time this Christmas to reflect on the deeper meaning of what was given to us that day.
